Our Story

Talofa lava and Welcome to our Website!

Pualii started as a hobby and later developed its exclusive, personal ties of crushed custom and hand painted art in the comfort of our home in Oahu, Hawaii.  After retirement, in 2018, Pualii opened a small shop at the Ward Center Ohana Market Place in the Waikiki area.  It was there that then Pualii of Samoa caught the attention of Hawaii Five-0 and requested its appearance in one of their episodes.

The love I have for crafting, designing and sewing was inspired by my late Mother.  She was a homemaker, a seamstress and a Pastor’s wife who made all our clothes, mostly for school, church and special events.  I remember the old black Singer sewing machine she used those days was manually operated.  No tables, no sergers; she would sit on the floor turning the wheel on that machine until she was done.  I would wait until she was done to do the hems, the button holes and the button.  She would make our dresses and my brothers’ shirts all from one fabric material.

My customers are my families and my families are my friends.

There is a high demand for the Puletasi attire outside just as much as inside our lovely island of Samoa.  I have the greatest pleasure, honor and privileged to be of service in the generations of young people, those who serve their culture outside of their islands.
